Fireworks Celebration and much more

Yesterday evening was our county's "Fireworks Celebration" for the 4th of July. All of our neighbors were going and having a picnic dinner, everyone was very excited about the picnic, fireworks, moon bounces, pony rides and everything else that the evening had in store for our family. We arrived, found our friends, then headed out for some fun. The kids went down a big blow up slide a few times, played a few other games, then Jacob and Emma went over and rode the ponies. After all the fun we headed back to where our friends were to eat dinner. That was delayed when we lost Emma. She had wondered off, which we later found out, she was in line for a moon bounce. But in the 10 minutes, which seemed like 10 hours to me, when we were looking for her we had no idea that she was only about 30 feet from us. I headed toward the exit because no one was walking out of there with my little girl. The police were all on their radios giving out her description so they could look for her. I am sure that there were at least 100 other little blonde hair girls with red, white and blue shirts on. Luckily someone, and I am not sure who, found her and we were able to get back to eating dinner. We had all just sat down to eat when a couple policeman came over and informed us that we did not have to leave but there was hail, rain and heavy winds headed our way and to use our best judgement. Well, the rain and the wind started which immediately triggered MAJOR fear in Jacob and he was crying. We decided to leave since he was so upset instead of try to wait it out under one very small shelter. I am not sure I have ever seen Jacob run as fast as he did to the car. We made it home safely and so did all of our neighbors who waited under the shelter for a little while and decided it was not letting up anytime soon. We then all got back together at one of the neighbors homes, to finish the dinner that no one was able to eat at the park. Sean headed off to work as the kids and I walked down the street. We stayed until about 10pm and decided to head home. As we arrived home I realized that I did not have a house key, the reason for not having a key is a whole other story, so I called Sean. He was all alone at work because the other people he works with had all asked for the day off. Luckily one of the people that works the swing shift lives only 10 minutes from us, since Sean could not leave, he gave the other guy a key to bring to us. So, for an hour we sat on the couch at our neighbors home while we waited for a key to our house. It was 11:30pm before we were able to get in our house and into our beds. I was definitely ready for the evening of celebration to be over.

Baseball Boys

Sean and Jacob have been trying to get to the Nationals new stadium this year and it has never worked out when the Nationals were in town. Well, they are on there way tonight and as an added bonus Eric gets to go with them. I am sure they will have a lot of fun.

You have to love Big Sister's

Yesterday Seth and Emma were playing in her room, which is not uncommon. Both of them came in our room and asked if we could put dresses on them. Daddy was not excited about it but I thought it was cute, so of course I helped and then had to take a picture to post for all to see. You have to love having a big sister to dress you up and look beautiful. Seth loved being a "princess".

T-Ball Trophy

Jacob had his last T-ball game last Saturday. It was a fun season for him. He did very well. Each member of the team received a trophy. Jacob is very proud of his trophy and chances are if you come to our house anytime in the near future you will get to see it first hand. He is showing it off to anyone that comes in the house.

Happy Father's Day

Sean returned home from work about 8:30am and was greeted by 3 anxious children. They gave him the "Indiana Jones" trilogy on DVD and many pictures that they had each created. He was quite excited. Mommy gave him an IOU on a power washer so that he could pick out the one that he wants. Nice that the gifts become much more practical as you have children and own a home. After a breakfast of cinnamon rolls he took a nap before church. After church we enjoyed steak, potatoes and asparagus for dinner with chocolate chip cake for dessert.

We love our daddy and all that he does for our family. He is the BEST!!

We had preschool graduation yesterday for Jacob. We did Joy School with a few other people from church. It was a lot of fun and we made some great friends too. Jacob is ready for Kindergarten next year. Mommy is nervouse about her oldest being away from home all day but I know he will do great.
